एबीसी / संवाददाता

Kathmandu December 19.The government has stepped up its preparation to keep Pokhara-based Ratna Temple open for public in view of the English New Year 2020. The Rata Temple and Hima Residence which are located in the vicinity of popular Fewa Lake in Pokhara have not been kept open for public after the country ushered into republic putting to an end the monarchy. These two places might be the attractive destinations for tourists so the government is making preparation to allow public entrance to the temple and residence. Keeping in mind the New Year 2020, the government is doing necessary ground work to open the Ratna Temple amidst a formal programme on 1 January. According to the plan, the Ratna Temple will be kept open in the first phase and Hima Residence in the second phase. Ratna Temple and Hima residence were brought to the ownership domain of Nepal Trust Fund as per the government’s decision to transfer all the properties of the late King Birendra and late Queen Aishworya and their families to the fund following republic proclamation in the country. The people’s representatives and tourism entreperenurs here had raised the voice for keeping Ratna Temple open for public and develop the historical place as a tourism destination since long. The Ratna Temple has 11 rooms in its main building. There is administrative building, lake house and building for army troop on the premis.
