Nawalparasi, March 19: Various national infrastructure projects implemented in Nawalparasi and Rupandehi districts are stalled due to lack of money.

Construction of bridges and roads, among other infrastructures implemented in these districts, has been delayed as adequate budget has not been received, the Division of Roads Office, Butwal said.

Accounts officer at the Division of Roads Office Bishnu Bahadur Rayamajhi said that these projects include the construction of 62 concrete bridges and upgrading of some roads, and construction works of most of these projects are stalled due to dearth of budget.

According to Rayamajhi, the Office has so far got authorisation of Rs 120 million only whereas it has completed works equivalent to one billion rupees on these projects.

The Office has estimated that the total cost of all these projects would be around six billion rupees.

Apart from the 62 concrete bridges in the two districts, expansion of the road from Butwal Belbas to Jhumsa (Palpa) via Nuwakot is also included under the national project. Upgrading of the four-lane road from Belbas to Bethari in Rupandehi district is also included in the national projects.
