Prohibitory order issued in Barhabise market

एबीसी / संवाददाता
माघ ५, २०७६ आईतबार   ११ : ४५   बजे

Sindhupalchowk. January 19.
A prohibitory order has been issued to be effective from 8:00 this morning to 5:00 pm by the District Administration Office Sindhupalchowk. The order was issued in order to avoid any untoward incident that may take place resulting from a tense situation after the roadside illegally built huts were dismantled. The huts built by encroaching the road area were brought to ground by the Barhabise municipality, which brought the occupants to the road and a subsequent clash with police. The prohibitory order is effective up to 300 meters east of Barhabise market, up to the Bhotekoshi bridge in the west, Area police office in the north and the road leading to Chhyamadevi in the south, according to Chief District Officer Goma Devi Chemjong. As a result, gathering and group travel has been prohibited in the area. The municipality had put up notices for several times, asking the people to clear the two sides of the road. However, as no response was received, the Municipality mobilized a dozer to bring down the illegally built structures. That led to a clash between the occupants and police yesterday. Fearing violence, the DAO decided to impose the prohibitory order to calm down the situation.
