Kathmandu February 10
The District Health Office, Dailekh has launched the physiotherapy service for the first time in its history and in the district. The hospital extended its service bearing in mind a growing demand for it. Lately, the number of patients requiring the service is on the rise. Physiotherapy is useful and recommended for those people primarily with neurological and spinal issues, back pain, muscle pain, paralysis, and bone issues, said Office Chief Dr Niranjan Panta. The Handicap International has provided equipment worth Rs one million to operate the service. The Karnali state government has ensured budget to hire ‘physiotherapist’ workforce. The service is expected to be beneficial for the patients from neighbouring districts as well. The service was launched two weeks ago and over 50 have received it so far, physiotherapist Dhana Khadka said.
