Priority on building national capital: Minister Khatiwada

एबीसी न्यूज

Kathmandu, July 22 .

Finance Minister Dr Yuba Raj Khatiwada on Sunday said the incumbent government has put priority on building national capital, and urged private sector to assist in this regard. The government has accorded high priority to building infrastructures for industries, he said in a meeting with a delegation from the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) at his workplace in Singha Durbar.
He also urged entrepreneurs to maintain clarity, impartiality and discipline. There is no alternative to implementing social security scheme, PAN registration and imposition of value-added tax, he said. Withdrawing VAT on diesel is impossible, he said while pledging to book tax evaders and address genuine demands of industrialists and entrepreneurs. Likewise, FNCCI senior vice president, Chandra Prasad Dhakal informed that a Cabinet meeting decided to form a five-member taskforce to address concerns of industrialists and entrepreneurs. The taskforce comprises two representatives each from the Finance Ministry and the FNCCI and an expert in related field.
