Dipayal Bus Park remains off limits for buses

Doti, July 31: The Dipayal Bus Park has remained shut for the past one week due to land dispute and failure by the concerned authorities to resolve the standoff.

Local resident, Tek Bahadur Shah, on July 23 claimed he has seven annas of land property on a road leading up to the bus park. He set up a cordon of iron rods to fence off the area he claims to own.

The road shrunk after the creation of the iron fence blocking the vehicles from heading towards the bus park.

“It is sad that the bus park has not come into operation even after a week,” Hotel Entrepreneurs Association, Doti Chairman Deepak Bahadur Khadka said, adding “It feels that the municipality, bus park’s land owners and the administration are unable to focus on this.”

The buses are now parked at the central marketplace which is triggering intermittent traffic snarl. “Dozens of vehicles are seen parked on the bazaar’s road which has made the marketplace chaotic,” local businessman Ganesh Bahadur Saud shared. “The situation has also created the risk of accidents,” he added.

The municipality here on Friday summoned a meeting between land owner, Shah, Shaileshwori Transport Entrepreneurs Committee and Ward no 4 Chairman, Birendra Shah, despite which the absence of a written agreement is hindering the efforts at opening the bus park. RSS
