Urlabari (Morang), July 28: The Bhutanese refugees, who are longing for returning their home country, submitted a memorandum to Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba on Friday.
Through the memorandum, the refugees residing in Sanishchare and Damak of Jhapa demanded the Prime Minister to ensure their repatriation.
Bhutan Independent People’s Forum submitted the memorandum to PM Deuba via email putting forth the demand.
People’s Forum General Secretary DB Subba informed that they submitted the memo to PM with the signatures of Bhutanese refugees wishing for repatriation.
He accused the government agencies of turning deaf ear to their demands despite submission of memo several times in the past.
As many as 12,000 refugees are taking shelter in the camps of Morang and Jhapa districts. Around 70,000 refugees have been settled in Europe, America and Australia. RSS
