Kathmandu May 29:
Joint Ambulance Drivers Association Nepal has demanded the authorities concerned to provide facilities to ambulance drivers at par with the frontline health workers. Saying ambulance drivers are at the highest risk of coronavirus, the Association demanded the authorities to arrange health insurance and other services and facilities at par with health workers as well as promptly ensure their coronavirus tests. Issuing a press release, Association Central Chairperson Nabaraj Lamichhane and General Secretary Mukti Kafle drew the attention of the bodies concerned to provide all medical supplies required for ambulance drivers as they are facing high risks of coronavirus being compelled to provide service wearing a simple face mask. The press release also drew attention about increasing social misbehavior to ambulance drivers. The press release also demanded not to forcefully use ambulances as a vehicle to carry people arriving from abroad. The Association also warned that they could not continue their job if their demands were not addressed. There are altogether 4,500 ambulances in the country
